| So, why the name Submerge? Keep reading……..
How can I live all out for God? How can I be all that God created me to be? What does it mean for me each day of the week – not just Sundays? I have some idea in my head about what I should do to live for God, but it’s so easy to forget it. I get so easily distracted. What’s going on?
I’ve been asking myself these kinds of questions on and off for a while now, but one day just before Christmas, a picture came into my head which helps me to see a bit more how I can actually live all out for God each day of the week.
Imagine being in the sea, with a football, and pushing the ball down underneath the surface of the water, down as far as you can reach. Then you let go and watch as the ball surges back up, pushing it’s way through the water to the surface, and then shoots out and jumps high above the sea.
God was saying that I should be like this ball, submerging myself in him, getting to know him more and more, going deeper in my relationship with him, and deeper into his word, and asking him to fill me up with his Holy Spirit. And the natural, powerful response would be that I would fly up out of the water, out into the world, out into what God’s called me to be, out to live all out for God.
We’re called, each one of us, and all of us together as Submerge, to go deeper in our relationship with God, to really seek him and really engage with the Holy Spirit. And we are called to be sent out, propelled out, to make a difference in the world we’re part of.
